Hi freyd

Well it seems all are blind and forgetful about something, and it seems that so many simply often choose to be so. As the the saying goes 'what you don't know wont hurt you', or 'you can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink'. After it all; we trust YHWH to have it all work out right in the end.

Anyways, I want to thank you for the reminder in the link...it reminded me that I wanted to listen to the posts of that conference RRD so enjoyed

"Opiates change brain function! The alterations in neurological functioning may be permanent...."
http://www.chemicaldependencyservices.net/FAQ.html

I remember, coming out of the chemical dependency system.....

And then there is "prescription chemical dependency," and all their unpredictable side effects for things like seizures, clinical depression, psychotic episodes, etc.
[/quote]

Amazing!  Brother freyd, attempting to link something personal, like, say, seizures or clinical depression with chemical dependency..? - let's say - with me..?  Well, I'll clear the air - my epilepsy began in childhood - as did my episodes with depressions - which is not ab-normal concern the suffering with epilepsy - and the stigma that   follows.
Yes, as a teen I explored the drug world - I especially self-medicated my epilepsy with marijuana - and it worked, for awhile.  I stopped, went to college, and became a chemical dependency counselor - because I had something to offer - at least I thought I did - over the years, though, I'd come to realize how very difficult addiction really is. . .
But, of course, this has nothing to do, with what I've asked of you - and my "Amazing!" at the the beginning of this commentary really explains that - because the effort to turn everything around to not have to answer too anyone, - especially to yourself, brother freyd, that in itself, takes some talent - certain a 'few' year's practice :-)   So, dear brother, we arrive - (often enough, don't you think???) to a question "who are you?"  and then, who are your brethren?  Your don't need answer to me - it is rhetorical...  But I leave you with this hope in my love for you as your sister...:  "For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. . ."    Ephesians 1:15-23

The way I see it, present day Bible Students are authoritarian and sectarian just like their JW cousins. (My own opinion and observation)

There is nothing comparable between the two; jw's have no sectarianism, at least that's spoken of openly. It's black and white, either you believe everything handed down from on high or you're gone. That's beyond authoritarian, it's tyrannical.

It is true that, at least on the surface, the JWs do not have sectarianism within their own organization, due to their "high command" of those in leadership. However, in that leadership draws and demands that all follow their leadership, it is one of the greatest examples of sectarianism there is. -- Galatians 2:4.
