NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- CIT Group Inc., one of the nation's leading funders of small and medium-sized businesses, filed for the fifth largest bankruptcy by assets in U.S. history Sunday as part of a reorganization plan that has the support of an overwhelming majority of debtholders.

In a statement, the company said it is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for a quick approval of the prepackaged plan. CIT said none of its operating subsidiaries would be affected by the filing, allowing them to continue operations.

"The decision to proceed with our plan of reorganization will allow CIT to continue to provide funding to our small business and middle market customers, two sectors that remain vitally important to the U.S. economy," said CIT (CIT, Fortune 500) chairman Jeffrey M. Peek.

The large-scale government intervention in the economy is going to end badly.
Any number of pundits claim that we have now passed the worst of the recession. Green shoots of recovery are supposedly popping up all around the country, and the economy is expected to resume growing soon at an annual rate of 3% to 4%. Many of these are the same people who insisted that the economy would continue growing last year, even while it was clear that we were already in the beginning stages of a recession.

A false recovery is under way. I am reminded of the outlook in 1930, when the experts were certain that the worst of the Depression was over and that recovery was just around the corner. The economy and stock market seemed to be recovering, and there was optimism that the recession, like many of those before it, would be over in a year or less. Instead, the interventionist policies of Hoover and Roosevelt caused the Depression to worsen, and the Dow Jones industrial average did not recover to 1929 levels until 1954. I fear that our stimulus and bailout programs have already done too much to prevent the economy from recovering in a natural manner and will result in yet another asset bubble.

Anytime the central bank intervenes to pump trillions of dollars into the financial system, a bubble is created that must eventually deflate. We have seen the results of Alan Greenspan's excessively low interest rates: the housing bubble, the explosion of subprime loans and the subsequent collapse of the bubble, which took down numerous financial institutions. Rather than allow the market to correct itself and clear away the worst excesses of the boom period, the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury colluded to put taxpayers on the hook for trillions of dollars. Those banks and financial institutions that took on the largest risks and performed worst were rewarded with billions in taxpayer dollars, allowing them to survive and compete with their better-managed peers.

This is nothing less than the creation of another bubble. By attempting to cushion the economy from the worst shocks of the housing bubble's collapse, the Federal Reserve has ensured that the ultimate correction of its flawed economic policies will be more severe than it otherwise would have been. Even with the massive interventions, unemployment is near 10% and likely to increase, foreigners are cutting back on purchases of Treasury debt and the Federal Reserve's balance sheet remains bloated at an unprecedented $2 trillion. Can anyone realistically argue that a few small upticks in a handful of economic indicators are a sign that the recession is over?

What is more likely happening is a repeat of the Great Depression. We might have up to a year or so of an economy growing just slightly above stagnation, followed by a drop in growth worse than anything we have seen in the past two years. As the housing market fails to return to any sense of normalcy, commercial real estate begins to collapse and manufacturers produce goods that cannot be purchased by debt-strapped consumers, the economy will falter. That will go on until we come to our senses and end this wasteful government spending.

Government intervention cannot lead to economic growth. Where does the money come from for Tarp (Treasury's program to buy bad bank paper), the stimulus handouts and the cash for clunkers? It can come only from taxpayers, from sales of Treasury debt or through the printing of new money. Paying for these programs out of tax revenues is pure redistribution; it takes money out of one person's pocket and gives it to someone else without creating any new wealth. Besides, tax revenues have fallen drastically as unemployment has risen, yet government spending continues to increase. As for Treasury debt, the Chinese and other foreign investors are more and more reluctant to buy it, denominated as it is in depreciating dollars.

Dr. Paul brings up some great points. And all we have to do is see CIT failing this weekend to understand that the CDO's and paper that they will crash of others, could be the spark to deflate things....

The only remaining option is to have the Fed create new money out of thin air. This is inflation. Higher prices lead to a devalued dollar and a lower standard of living for Americans. The Fed has already overseen a 95% loss in the dollar's purchasing power since 1913. If we do not stop this profligate spending soon, we risk hyperinflation and seeing a 95% devaluation every year.

"Three Unclean Spirits Like Frogs"

"Every true Christian is ashamed to look back upon the pages of history and see what terrible deeds were done in the name of God and justice, and in the name of our Lord Jesus. We are not to think for a moment that these frog spirits, or doctrines, are all bad, but rather that they are doctrines of bombast and pomposity, representing themselves to be very wise and great, and having the backing of centuries. Out of the mouth of the Dragon comes the doctrine of the Divine right of Kings: "Do not look back of the curtain of history to see where the kings got that right. Accept the doctrine; for if you do not, and if men look into the matter, there will be a terrible revolution and everything will go down!"

The Beast and the False Prophet have similar croakings. The Catholic Church says, "Do not look behind! Do not question anything about the Church!" Protestantism says, also, "We are great, we are wise, we know a great deal. Keep quiet! No one will then know that you know nothing." All say (croaking), "We tell you that if you say anything against <PAGE xii> present arrangements, terrible things will come to pass."

Political parties are figuring in this. All declare, "If any change should come, it will mean terrible disaster!" Some have the backbone and some have the civil power behind them, but unitedly they croak to the people that if any change is made, it will mean ruin to the present order. In the language of our day, "Stand pat!" is the order in Church and in State; but the people are being moved by fear. It is this croaking of the Beast, the Dragon and the False Prophet that will arouse the kings of earth and gather them together to the Armageddon Battle and destruction.

The ecclesiastical kings and princes, with their retinue of clergy and faithful adherents, will be gathered in solid phalanx-- Protestant and Catholic. The political kings and princes, senators, and all in high places, with their henchmen and retainers, will follow in line on the same side. The financial kings and merchant princes, and all whom they can influence by the most gigantic power ever yet exercised in the world, will join the same side, according to this prophecy. They do not realize, however, that they are coming to Armageddon; yet strange to say, this is a part of their very cry, "Come together to Armageddon!"

Speaking of our day, our Lord declared, "Men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (`Luke 21:26`) The kings of Europe know not what to do. All sectarianism is being shaken. Many people of God are in perplexity.

The croaking of the frog spirits, or doctrines, will gather the kings and princes, financial, political, religious and industrial into one great army. The spirit of fear, inspired by the croaking, will scourge the passions of otherwise good and reasonable men to fury--desperation. In their blind following of these evil spirits, evil doctrines, they will be ready to sacrifice life and everything on what they mistakenly suppose is the altar of Justice, Truth and Righteousness under a Divine arrangement.

Many noble people in this great army will assume an attitude quite contrary to their preference. For a time the wheels of liberty and progress will be turned backward, and mediaeval restraints will be considered necessary for self-preservation <PAGE xiii> --for the maintenance of the present order of things and for the prevention of the new order which God has decreed, the due time for which is at hand. Even those who may be God's people do not stop to consider whether it is His will that things should continue as they have been for the past six thousand years. The Bible says that such is not God's will, but that there is to be a great overturning, that a new order is coming in.

For a brief time, as we understand the Scriptures, these combined forces of Armageddon will triumph. Free speech, free mails, and other liberties which have come to be the very breath of the masses in our day, will be ruthlessly shut off on the plea of the glory of God, the commands of the Church, etc. The safety-valve will be sat upon, and thus will cease to annoy earth's kings with the sound of escaping steam; and all will seem to be serene--until the great social explosion described in the Revelation as an earthquake will take place. In symbolic language an earthquake signifies social revolution, and the Scriptural declaration is that none like it ever before occurred. (`Rev. 16:18,19`) See our Lord's reference to it in `Matt. 24:21`."

  Super Bowl Sunday: Scientifically Crafted Mass Mental Illness

As the Roman Empire drew to a close, the poet and satirist Juvenal wrote about an infantilized populace that had surrendered its birthright of political involvement.
    
“Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties,” he wrote, “for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses.” The Latin phrase panem et circenses is often translated as “bread and games.”

In America, circa 2010, the phrase bread and circuses, or bread and games, has become what passes for our national anthem. The masses long ago abdicated their civic duties and have since forsaken the Constitution — and are in fact almost completely ignorant of it — and have abandoned their birthright of liberty in favor of mindless and indeed infantilized entertainment.

It is not merely the gladiatorial Super Bowl. It is an entire popular culture steeped in meaningless celebrity worship. Far too many Americans reject political involvement — their birthright — for a vicarious and perverse obsession with the minutiae of manufactured stars and starlets. It is no mistake Aldous Huxley used the phrase in Brave New World Revisited as an example of one of the ideas he used as a theme in Brave New World. Steve Bonta, in an article published in The New American, compares and contrasts Huxley and Orwell:

    "What Huxley understood more acutely than Orwell is that it is easier to enslave a people by seduction than by coercion. In the words of social critic Neil Postman, “what Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one…. As Huxley remarked…, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny ‘failed to take into account man’s almost infinite appetite for distractions.’ In 1984, Huxley added, people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure.”

The Super Bowl event is a scientifically created mass mental illness that exploits man’s almost infinite appetite for distractions. It is the bellwether of tyranny.

The Beginning of the Fall

    "In a secular democracy, it is possible to elect anybody President regardless of their religious beliefs. The US was a predominantly Christian culture that maintained a modicum of morality as long as its Presidents were White Anglo Saxon Protestants. John Kennedy was the first one to break that mold and it may be that he paid with his life for doing so. He was supposed to be a Catholic, but his sense of morality was based on a different premise, namely that the Church protects the faith and all those born into that faith should support the Church and leave the administration of morality to the priests and bishops. This model works if the great majority of a country is Catholic, such as in Italy and South America.

    However, in a secular democracy, evil men may rise and pretend that they are secular (while harboring an esoteric religious belief) and performing duties of the Presidency; such men are capable of the worst atrocities. Such may be the case with the present election of a man that fought against American values and learned the techniques of defeating the moral premise of the American nation, faced by challengers who were brow-beaten into denying their faith in Jesus by a secular system that was brought about by the acceptance of non-Christian refugees into the American culture.

    American culture deteriorated to such a point when democratic principles necessitated the abandonment of the homogeneous form of Christianity that had flourished in early America. First Catholics entered into the government. Then Jews also entered into the system and achieved high positions of power, (as ironically Tobith of the Bible had achieved in Nineveh three thousand years ago by becoming the treasurer of King Shalmanasser III during the Ashurai Empire in Mesopotamia.) However, Catholics and Jews have always been compatible with other Christian members of society. Now we have Muslims entering the US government; but Islam is not compatible with Judeo-Christianity. Islam does not mean peace. Islam means submission, or the peace that comes from submission to the Islamic faith. The American secular leaders, predominantly the Democrats who are in power now, have succeeded in selling the American public on this definition of Islam. This lie that the Democrats have created will blow up in their face; it’s already starting to as we saw in the last few days the atrocities committed by Muslims in Mumbai, India against both Christians and Jews. The Presidency of Obama will bring about many more disasters all over the world.......This will be one of the biggest abominations of Biblical proportions; it could rise to the level of what the Scriptures prophesied about the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet. Obama’s Presidency may be destined to be the last chapter of the United States of America as a Christian country. America as Americans had come to know it is over; now is the time to recall its greatness and eulogize it.

   The US was the greatest country in the history of the world; its fall will be great but its greatness will never be forgotten, a greatness that was built on its faith in Jesus the Messiah..........In the last fifty years we have seen the decline of morality in America, but never did we dream that this spiraling decline would lead to a freefall and the total destruction that will commence in less than two months from now. All people of genuine faith should brace themselves and be prepared for the persecution that will commence soon. Of course, it will all be according to God’s will, as Sarah Palin so wisely said in her remarks at the end of her campaign for the Vice-Presidency. The Pain of Slavery

    "The pain of slavery inflicted on millions of Africans who were captured like animals and brought on slave ships to toil for the rest of their lives in a distant land is one of the most outrageous episodes of modern history. They both studied Russian at the university in Hawaii. Most likely they were both leftists. Obama grew up with the pain of racism. His father left Obama's mother. She married another Muslim, this one from Indonesia, and moved there with him. Obama went to a Muslim school for a while. Then his mother sent him to Hawaii, where Obama lived with her parents and went to school there. Obama adapted well to his changing environments and conquered prejudice. He graduated from Harvard Law School. He worked hard as a community organizer and became the junior Senator from Illinois.

       Fifty million people voted for John McCain and over fifty million people voted for Obama. Obama campaigned hard and convinced over half of the voters in America that he would do everything for them. Ninety-five percent of the Black people of America voted for Obama. Most of the disgruntled people of America, the leftists, the liberals, the homosexuals, the poor, and the dispossessed voted for Obama.

    Obama's greatest appeal to American voters was captured in his story of his mother dying of cancer in a hospital in the US and the insurance company's reluctance to pay for her treatment. Obama experienced the anguish of a young man seeing his mother all upset about the fact that her insurance company was trying to renege on its obligation to pay for her treatment. Here she was in the hospital, dying of cancer and the insurance company trying not to pay for her treatment. Obama said that he would never let that happen to another person in America. This was his greatest moment in the campaign, the most compelling argument for all Americans to vote for him, and many Republicans even voted for him on account of such statements.

    Essentially, the Counter-Culture of the 60s and those generations that it nurtured voted for Obama. John McCain's defeat will go down in history as the turning point in America. Never again will America rise from the ashes of this defeat, because this defeat is the tip of the iceberg. Millions of Black people, Native Americans, Hispanics, Eastern Christians and Orthodox Christians have been treated with injustice by the Democratic Party that built its base on discrimination toward the dark-skinned people and the genuine Christians. The domestic enemies of America are the dominant culture now and they have taken over the United States of America. In the life of an individual also this exodus takes place, and it can happen to everyone if they get their priorities mixed up. Hello fellow Members,

A view-point I gave regarding the possible tactics of the Taliban in the Hellmann Province was only on the understanding that they were familiar with the Julius Caesar formula.

They are of course not acquainted with this but are evidently using the same tactics as they did two thousand years ago against the Roman legions. Rome eventually declared the area a no-go zone! The reason for this is because military might [mechanised or otherwise] is no match against an idea. This is why Christianity triumphed.

The Americans and their allies are unused to fighting against a faceless enemy, Vietnam is a fine example; they lost there too. The troops with all their armaments are moving through this area slowly, due to encountering more mines and other traps than anticipated.

I already expected this including the fact that they will encounter very little resistance as the main force is now waiting comfortably in Iran. Eventually the allies will clear the area and declare it a victory and safe for the Afghan Army to take control. Then after the allies have left and the Afghan Government is lulled into a false security, the Taliban will be back with all force and take-up where they have left off! Just  like Vietnam.

In the meantime, Iran is looking hungrily at Europe which it hopes to demolish later with nuclear missiles including the Vatican. This is a parallel of the destruction of Babylon and false religion by Cyrus the Great of Persia [Iran]and servant of God who declared: “Out of the East and out of the sunrise my servant Cyrus shall move against Babylon [Iraq], the river will dry-up before him, the great metal doors will open before him and he will release my people.”

In the book of Revelation, Babylon the Great [World Empire of False Religion ‘Christendom and Pagan.] will be destroyed by a political force and all will be released from the false teachings of this Harlot-like establishment. This is due to happen very soon now!

In 1945 A.D. we entered the ‘last generation’ of this world system as described by Jesus in Matthew 24 and were are now steadily heading towards the ‘great tribulation’ which will be brought about by the adverse environment created partly through the industrial revolution. Jesus himself states that unless these days are cut-short, no flesh will be saved.

However, the ‘kingdom’ for which many have been praying since Jesus gave us The Lord’s Prayer; will cut-short the great tribulation and bring in the new Theocratic Government which God promise six thousand years ago in Genesis 3:15. The ‘seed which will crush the serpent’s head is the ‘Prince of the Sanctuary’ who stood up in 1914 A.D. when there was war in the heavens and war on the earth for a period of thirty years [1914-1945].

Now we await the next move!
