Evidently an ex-JW going by the name Griftegård has released a "heavy metal" recording by the name of "Charles Taze Russell." I have not been able to make out the lyrics because of all the loud racket in the recording. If anyone knows of more concerning this, feel free to post.

I did a Google search and it seems that Griftegard is a Swedish doom metal band. (Not exactly my favorite genre) and is an old Swedish word for cemetery without a church.

Lineup:

Guitar OLA BLOMKVIST
Vocals THOMAS ERIKSSON
Drums JENS GUSTAFSSON
Guitar PER BRODDESSON
Bass THOMAS JANSSON

Apparently the guitarist is the ex Jehovah's Witness as well as the...  err... songwriter

The band Myspace page is:

"Charles Taze Rusell" is one of the osngs on the playlist,  and if you select it and click "lyrics" at the upper right corner of the playlist you can read the lyrics to the song while it plays (and of course you can turn down the volume if you cant stand the racket.) I can post the lyrics if anyone wants to...

Thanks for the link. I read the lyrics, and must say that I don't know what the lyrics are meant to say as related to Charles Taze Russell. Surely someone else must have asked the same question. From some of his comments, he seems to associate Charles Taze Russell as a symbol of his experiences with the JW organization, which leads me to believe that he really knows very little about Charles Taze Russell or what he taught as being different from the JW organization.

I'm not a fan of this genre of music, but from what little i've seen it appears that many of the lyrics tend to be ambigious and/or full of symbolism. I'm a little slow, so I have to read the lyrics two or three times to try to figure out the meaning.
