Our book is finally out. The full title is Nelson Barbour: The Millennium's Forgotten Prophet.

It's 178 pages with illustrations. You will find details of our early history that have not been published before. We explore the roots of Babour's teaching, detail his earlier life and his later association with Russell. I'm especially happy with the details we uncovered on the development of the parousia doctrine. You will not have seen most of the photos.

It's only available on Lulu.com until we sell enough to warrent our publisher adding it to Amazon.

Vienne,

Thanks for this information. However, I still have have serious doubts that Barbour thought of himself as a "prophet". If he had, I doubt that Russell would have ever had anything to do with him.

Christian love,
Ronald

I'm sure Barbour would have hesitated to describe himself as a prophet. The title comes from his actions and his evident self-view as revealed by his interactions with Brother Russell.

We’ve tried to do two things in this book. We set the record straight in regard to Barbour’s life. Brother Russell’s enemies, especially in recent times, have made nasty and untruthful claims about Barbour’s influence on Russell. We document the truth of the matter. Much is made by some as to the “originality” of Russell’s teachings. This is silly. If you teach the Bible then there should be nothing original in your teachings. But, we detail the back ground to the truth movement’s earliest research, touching on the parousia doctrine, the chronology Russell and Barbour used, gentile times and so forth.

I don't specifically identify myself with any group. I consider myself to be a Christian. I think the divisions among God's people are regrettable, and I simply do not identify with a division.
